Accusing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of doing 'dirty politics', BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir said vector-borne diseases are reduced in the national Capital because of commendable work done by municipal bodies but Kejriwal is taking the entire credit of it.

Gambhir was speaking in a programme organized by east Corporation at Krishna Nagar. The Corporation has checked about 53.5 lakhs houses since July and mosquitoes breeding reported found in 31.5 lakhs houses. Further, the civic body also issued notices to 32 thousand household and 2,804 challans issued for various violations under Delhi Municipal Act.

Leader of the House in EDMC Nirmal Jain said that the chief minister is misleading people by taking credit for reducing the cases of dengue, malaria and chikungunya. "It is the responsibility of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi to deal with vector-borne diseases and the corporation has been putting all possible efforts to reduce the cases by making people aware in this regard," he added.   A senior EDMC official said that a regular inspection is being done to check homes, various offices, schools, colleges, dispensaries and hospitals. Besides, public health department has also been spraying insecticides to control the diseases.
