While campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in Garhwal parliamentary constituency, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat sent the helicopter he was using to the aid of a teacher severely injured in a road mishap.
On Friday, two BJP candidates including Tirath Singh Rawat from Garhwal constituency filed their nominations. The CM was addressing a public rally before the candidate’s nomination filing. According to sources, at that time, he received news on his phone that a teacher had been badly injured in a road accident in Gopeshwar. On learning this, Rawat sent his helicopter to the rescue of the injured teacher.
Member of teaching faculty of the government inter college in Gopeshwar, Anup Khanduri was badly injured in a road accident. It was stated that sources for rescue and transportation were limited due to the election model code of conduct being in force. Taking a decision without deferring, the CM sent the helicopter he was using to the rescue of the injured teacher. The injured Khanduri was taken by helicopter from Gopeshwar to the base hospital in Srinagar. The CM also directed the doctors to ensure proper treatment of the injured teacher. This is not the first time when the CM has come to the rescue of injured persons.
