Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will not celebrate his 74th birthday on Wednesday in view of the damages caused by extremely severe cyclone Fani that hit the Odisha coast on May 3.
Patnaik on Tuesday requested his well-wishers to help the orphan kids and disabled persons instead of visiting his house Naveen Nivas to wish him on his birthday.
He expressed his happiness for the blood donation programme scheduled to be held under the ruling BJD’s Jeevan Bindu initiative all over the State on his birthday.
Notably, Patnaik had also not celebrated his birthday in previous years for cyclones Phailin, Hudhud and Titli that affected thousands of people in the State.
