Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a survey of the flood-affected areas of Ghazipur, Varanasi and Prayagraj on Friday and directed officials to speed up relief operation.
He also ordered release of Rs 50 crore for the people of 19 flood-affected districts.
The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to distribute relief material in the flood-affected villages and to take the residents to a safe place.
All the affected families will get 10 kg rice, 10 kg flour, 10 kg potatoes, pulse, salt, spices and kerosene and also puffed rice and other edible items.
The officials have also been asked to arrange the medical facilities and fodder for cattle in the affected areas.
In Ghazipur, the Chief Minister met flood-affected people and enquired about the arrangements made by the administration.
The Chief Minister said the administrative officials of the affected districts had been asked to remain on alert and to make arrangements beforehand.
“I went to Ballia two days back and also to Prayagraj, Varanasi and Ghazipur today where the administration has kept the relief material ready for distribution and they are ready to face any situation,” he said.
The Chief Minister has asked the officials concerned of the flood-affected districts to ensure that compensation was given within 24 hours to people whose houses had collapsed or whose cattle had died or who suffered any other kind of losses.
