A girl was allegedly raped by her colleague at the Pandakudia slum in Bharatpur under the Khandagiri police station here on Tuesday.
Reports said the accused, identified as Jagannath Mohanty, and the victim work in the housekeeping department of a private hospital in the city.
On December 3 evening, Jagannath and the girl had gone to the Pandakudia slum, where the former allegedly raped her there.
Later as the health condition of the victim worsened, the accused took her to the hospital, where he works, for treatment on Wednesday.
But the doctor on duty suspected foul play and informed the Khandagiri police, following which cops reached the hospital and recorded the statement of the girl, on the basis of which the accused was arrested.
Police have registered a case over a complaint lodged by the parents of the victim and further investigation is underway.
