Himachal Government is committed to promote the state as Eco tourism destination and is making concerted efforts to identify and develop eco tourism sites in various parts of the State, Chief Secretary Shrikant Baldi said on Monday.
Presiding over the review meeting of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department here, the
Chief Secretary reviewed various proposed tourism projects in the state and directed the authorities to complete all ongoing projects within stipulated time.
He said that with the objective to improve tourist inflow Chanshal, Janjehli and Bir billing should be developed as eco tourism sites, for which development of infrastructure, landscaping of area and arrangement of parking and toilet facilities should also be made. He also laid stress on training of local youth in various aspects of tourism marketing to enable them for multiple employment opportunities to improve the socio-economic condition of residents of these areas.
Baldi said Bir billing must be developed as Aero Sports site for which possibilities of community partnership and Public-Private Partnership must be explored and directed strengthening of technical committee to ensure safety measures. He also directed the authorities to prepare an action plan for development of Janjheli Area as Eco tourism hub.
Director Tourism Department Yunus gave a detailed report on the ongoing progress of various tourism projects being implemented by the department.
