The Desh Bachao rally of Congress here in Daltonganj and last week BJP’s conclave of the intellectuals ( Prabudh Jan) at two venues too close to each other with just one wall between as Desh Bachao rally was held in the Shivajee Maidan, while BJP’s intellectual meet was held in the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhaya Smiriti Bhawan the message that emanated from the arc rivals’ camp was most evident and varied.
In the BJP’s intellectual meet national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi was scheduled to come but he did not come at all. The result was everyone to see as this intellectual meet remained almost grounded without even a takeoff. The meet was held but it limped politically with stress on what the BJP has done for the people and the country and the intellectuals showing utter lack of fast changing political scenes indulged in the best of rhetoric.
The Congress’ ‘Desh Bachao’ rally was vibrant where the dais was shared by the chief of the scheduled caste Kameshwar Baitha, State head of women’s wing Gunjan Singh and state head of the minority cell Shakeel Ahmad.
However in Congress’ Desh Bachao rally Gunjan Singh made her presence felt more strongly than those big leaders of the party who gave long speeches but failed to impress the women as they were in good numbers in this Friday rally here..
Gunjan Singh when her term came to deliver her speech was reminded to finish her ‘baat’ ( feelings) in just two minute and the lady did it but with a great ease and no grin.
Expressing her extreme anger, anguish and deep mourning for the CRPF troopers who lost lives in Pulwama she reminded the PM saying, “Time has come when the PM must show the wrist and not the 56 inch chest.”
She said it is the wrist that wields the weapons of revenge. The huge gathering just clapped like anything for her bold urging to teach the perpetrators of terrorism a salutary lesson.
Gunjan Singh after finishing her two minute speech took her seat and then came the sitting Congress MLA of Panki Assembly Constituency Devender Singh alias Bittu Singh, who in his speech alluded to Gunjan Singh’s remark of wrist and repeated the same thing.
