State Congress has hailed the decision of Bhupesh Baghel government to celebrate traditional regional festival ‘Gauri-Gaura’ at government level.
In a statement party’s state spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said by declaring so the Chief Minister has promoted the rich traditions of Chhattisgarh and its populace.
Earlier too the festivals of Haritalika Teej, Pola and world tribal day were enthusiastically celebrated in the state with government’s patronage, he said.
Thakur also recalled that the Baghel government gave a regional touch to the Rajim Fair by declaring it Rajim Punni Mela instead of earlier Rajim Kumbh. The participation of state populace increased by giving it a regional touch, Thakur further claimed.
Hailing the declaration of Chief Minister about celebrating Gauri-Gaura festival at government level, Thakur further said that the decision was a manifestation of respect shown to the state and its rich traditions.
