Even as the ruling BJP declared its candidates for most of the positions for second stage of elections, the leaders of the Opposition Congress party went on a huddle at Rajiv Bhawan for selecting candidates for these posts on Wednesday. However, till filing this report, the official list of the Congress party was not declared.
The meeting at the State Congress headquarters was attended among others by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh, leader of Opposition in State Assembly Indira Hridayesh, Congress MLAs, vice president of State Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana, district presidents and other leaders.
The Congress party is keeping its focus on the districts like Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayg and Pithoragarh for the posts of President District Panchayat.
