Cong workers burn effigy of BJP

In protest against what they alleged mismanagement in disaster relief operation, the Congress workers held protest meetings in all district headquarters. In provisional state capital of Dehradun, effigy of BJP was burned by the agitated workers of the party. On the day large number of Congress party workers and leaders assembled at state party office at Rajpur road from where under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh they marched to the Astley hall. Speaking on the occasion, the PCC President said that the state government has failed miserably in disaster management. Blaming the state government of being insensitive towards the victims of disaster he said that the condition in all the disaster affected areas of state is grim. He said the proper management of the government relief has not occurred and the affected families are continuing to suffer. Singh alleged that the state government is trying to defer the Panchayat elections by taking the shield of natural disaster. He also alleged that the reservations are being done arbitrarily.  The PCC chief alleged that the dalits are being harassed in the BJP rule. He said that the temple of Saint Ravidas in Delhi was not shifted to another place due to poor advocacy by the union government. The deputy leader of party in state assembly Karan Mahra, former MLA Matbar Singh Kandari, chairman of disciplinary committee Pramod Kumar Singh, former MLA Rajkumar and others participated in the programme.
