The BJP has termed the statewide protest called by the Congress on July 20 a political drama and asked the state government to concentrate on works instead of engaging in political gimmicks.
Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik in a statement on Friday said allotment of rice to the state was curtailed by the Narendra Modi led central government to stop black-marketing and the Congress was worried over it and so it was doing politics over the decision.
Regarding kerosene quota, the BJP leader said the central government calculates the requirement based on consumption and as there was successful implementation of Ujjwala scheme the quota was curtailed.
As the state government had failed in all the fields and was bereft of issue against the BJP-led government at the Centre, it was raising these issues in order to hide their failures.
Citing that Modi government had raised the state quota in central tax from 32% to 42%, he said it was the earlier UPA government which attributed step motherly attitude towards the states like Chhattisgarh.
Kaushik further advised the state government to concentrate on its work instead of engaigng in political gimmicks.
