The war of words has intensified between the ruling Congress and Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party leaders over power woes. The Congress party has accused a BJP leader of recruiting youths for manufacturing power cuts.
Congress party media coordinator Narendra Saluja in a statement accused BJP of indulging in a conspiracy to generate power cuts deliberately. Saluja shared a social media post of BJP Damoh IT Cell head Manish Tiwari in which the latter said, “Required, youths who could help in power cuts, Pease contact Damoh BJP,”
The Congress leader alleging that this post has exposed the BJP on power issue, said that recently an audio had gone viral in which the BJP leaders were talking about manufacturing power cuts.
“Power cut was witnessed in 22 Damoh villages with a deliberate fault in supply line and an FIR was also lodged on the same,” claimed Saluja.
He added that there is no power shortage in Madhya Pradesh and the state has power surplus. The BJP is trying to confuse the public and malign Congress government’s image, alleged the Congress leader.
BJP spokesperson Rahul Kothari contacted on the issue claimed that the Congress government has failed miserably in ensuring the power supply in the state and is now levelling fake and baseless allegations on the BJP. “The Congress party is unnecessarily highlighting a satirical post of the BJP worker,” claimed Kothari.
Notably, The BJP is persisting with protests on power cuts and on Thursday the party demonstrated in Jabalpur. The Kamal Nath government has been alleging that BJP workers were conniving with the government staffers to produce faults in power supply lines. The BJP in response has dared the Congress government to take action.
