In order to bring awareness in society about the legal provisions in everyday life, a consultative meeting of teacher in-charge of Legal Literacy Club was organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), at the mediation center of the Judicial Complex in Gurugram.
While addressing chairing the meeting, Chief Judicial Magistrate of DLSA, Narendra Singh said the meeting was attended by the teacher-in-charge of 52 schools in Gurugram block where the Legal Literacy Club is being run. "Now activating these clubs, the information will be given about the necessary legal provisions so that the students of these clubs can share the information with their families and friends and acquaintances, he said.
Singh has given four subjects to these teacher in-charges for the next four months, based on which activities will be conducted in the Legal Literacy Clubs. These subjects are the welfare and maintenance of senior citizens and parents, Human trafficking, fundamental duties such as respecting elders, keeping cleanliness around them, and Laws related to children. Such as Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and, good Touch and bad touch etc.
"A meeting of the directors of the Legal Literacy Clubs of 52 government schools of Gurugram block has been organized. Similarly, a meeting of the in-charge of the Legal Literacy Clubs of private schools of this block will be called separately. The legal literacy clubs would instantly convey the message of legal literacy to at least 28,000 students per month," Singh, said.
Panel advocate and child psychologist Dr Pinki Goswami discussed crimes against children and tried to impress upon the attending teachers how to curb offences against children and where such offences could be reported to.
