A police constable posted in Mathura reportedly faced the ire of the local district police chief as he dared to upload a video showing the son of a senior minister of UP brutally assaulting a truck driver.
The action was taken when the video went viral.
According to reports, Ajit Kumar, deployed on Police Response Vehicle (PRV) attached to the Farah police station in Mathura, reportedly uploaded a video which showed the son of a prominent senior minister in the Yogi Adityanath ministry brutally assaulting a truck driver and removing his turban.
Taking a serious note of the policeman’s action that damaged the image of a senior minister, district police chief of Mathura, Shalabh Mathur, placed the constable under suspension and also ordered a probe into the matter.
Mathur also suspended another constable, identified as Devendra Singh, allegedly for giving shelter to a murder accused.
According to reports, Singh provided shelter to a murder accused who killed a man in Etah. The accused stayed in the constable’s house for two days.
When this came to the knowledge of Mathur, he placed Singh under suspension and ordered a departmental probe against him.
