The Gurugram Police has arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 near the district court on Tuesday. The arrested criminal was involved in 30 cases of loot, robbery, Attempt to murder, vehicle theft and house theft in Gurugram and Nuh districts. He was also a parole jumper.
According to the police, Amjad who hails from Nuh district was arrested on March 18 during a raid conducted by Inspector Naveen, Incharge of Sector-31 Crime Unit and his team on the basis of a tip-off. At the time of his arrest, Amjad was allegedly waiting for his accomplices to plan another crime.
During the preliminary interrogation, Amjad confessed his involvement in 30 cases which was serious in nature which he had committed along with his aids over the past several years in multiple districts.
“The accused was involved in 30 cases across in Gurugram and adjoining district. He was active from the last 15 years. In the previous year, he had stolen an ATM machine from Sector-53. A case in this regard had been filed in the Sector-53 police station. Since then the salutes were searching him from across the state,” said Subhash Boken, Spokesperson of Gurugram police.
“He was one of the most wanted criminals identified by the district police. The culprit was sent to three-day police custody by a local court and further investigations are on,” Boken, said.
It may be noted that The Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana police had prepared a list of most wanted criminals of whom several have been arrested.
“We are reviewing our most wanted criminal’s list and also working towards our team strengths. Besides wanted criminals we are also working on to curb illegal supplying of drugs and weapons in the state,” the STF officer said.
