The law and order situation is getting worse in and around the town and the cops seem to be helpless. In yet another incident of organised crime, four bike-borne criminals looted Rs 1.5 lakh from owner of a city-based customer service centre, Ganday by opening fire on the vehicle near Ganday market under same police station area here on Wednesday.
One of the victim, Pawan Kumar Ram, sustained bullet injury in his leg. He was rushed to Navjiwan Nurshing Home Hospital.
Ram said that he was returning from State bank of India after withdrawing Rs 1.5 lakh for payments to another customer. “When I reached Ganday market, suddenly two persons on two bikes came from behind. After getting down from the bikes, one of the four criminals asked me to hand over the bag that contained money. When I protested he fished out a pistol,” said Pawan Kumar Ram.
“But still when I resisted, another criminal who was also close to my bike fired a shot, which hit my leg. Subsequently, they forcibly snatched the bag that contained Rs 1.5 lakh. Later they fled from the site,” narrated Pawan. He said the incident took place near Ganday market, which was about 10 kilometres away from Giridih town.
Soon after the incident Ganday police came into action for tracing the culprits responsible for the armed loot. Superintendent of police, Giridih Surendra Kumar Jha said they have already got some clues about the culprits. Ram has been sent to local nursing home in Giridih.
