The Vigilance police on Thursday arrested Ganjan district’s Ankorada GP Sarpanch Ushanta Sahu on the allegation of acquisition and possessions of assets worth Rs 1,54,56,643 disproportionate to his known sources of income.
His double-storied residential building at Niladri Vihar, triple-storied residential building under construction, a tin-roofed garage at Podamari road in Digapahandi, a single-storied building at Rajpur village in Aska Road, an office room at Ankorada GP and a double-storied building at native Nabarangpur village had been searched on Wednesday by Vigilance officers.
He was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Brahmapur. Further investigation was on.
