Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary R. P. Mandal chairing the review meeting of all divisional commissioners and collectors of the state at conference hall of New Circuit House on Thursday emphasised on curbing illegal transport of paddy from neighbouring states.
He said Chhattisgarh is the only state to procure paddy from farmers at Rs 2500 per quintal and illegal transport of paddy from neighbouring states is a major problem and so strict actions should be taken to prevent it.
Directing all the divisional commissioners, he stressed to ensure regular monitoring and also to take strict action against the middlemen and brokers.
Mandal said that after paddy procurement begins, daily verification will be done at the procurement centres and that he would personally review procurement process every fortnight.
He also reviewed various development works and schemes in detail. In the first session of meeting, Mandal reviewed the districtwise preparations for paddy procurement, implementation of citizen charter, sanitation work under smart city scheme, free-hold of 'aabaadi' and 'nazul' lands, redressal of pending diversion cases and repairing of roads in urban and rural areas of the state.
Chief Secretary directed collectors to ensure free hold of 'aabaadi' and 'nazul' lands, which will make it convenient for landowners to transfer ownership of land. This will accelerate the pace of development and also increase the revenue collection, he said.
Chief Secretary directed the collectors to ensure immediate repairing of damaged roads in urban and rural areas in the state. He reviewed sanitation arrangements in five cities under Smart City Scheme- Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Sarguja, Sarguja and Korba.
