Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National Spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Saturday expressed confidence in Chief Minister Raghubar Das and said that the latter will win with a huge margin in Jamshedpur East – one of the 20 constituencies that went to polls on Saturday.
Addressing media persons at State BJP headquarters in Ranchi, Rudy said that the BJP will comfortably achieve its target of winning more than 65 seats in the 81-member Assembly here. “The world knows that since bifurcation of Bihar, Jharkhand had become synonymous with political instability. The state of affairs was so horrific that an independent candidate was made the Chief Minister. The BJP brought stability to the political scene of Jharkhand,” said Rudy, assuring that the BJP will once again come to power in the State.
Rudy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi treats Jharkhand as one of his priority States. And the combination of a BJP Government in State and Centre will bring holistic development here, he added. “This State is moving forward. A lot of development has taken place in tribal welfare, agriculture and infrastructure. The BJP has a long-term vision for the development of Jharkhand,” said Rudy.
The recent major decisions taken by the BJP's top leadership in the country have had a good effect, he said, adding that the Government did a commendable job of scraping Article 370 and making triple talaq illegal. “Unlike other political parties, the BJP runs on principals and policies. Other parties revolve around individuals and families,” he said.
The ruling BJP is faced against a tripartite alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress party and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Jharkhand. A five-phase election for the 81 Assembly constituencies here began on November 30. Voting will conclude in Jharkhand on December 20 and votes will be counted on December 23.
