The DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur emerged as champion in Under-17 category in the recently concluded CBSE Cluster-2 Athletic Meet at Allons Public School in Raipur.
All the five athletes were selected for national meet to be held at the same venue in November.
Abhinab Mohanty of Class-X bagged gold medal in 100m and 200m, Sandeept Sahoo of Class-XI won silver medal in shot put.
The relay team comprising Abhinab Mohanty, Saibab Kumar of Class-IX and Vivekananda Nayak and Aurojit Patnaik of Class-XI bagged gold medal in 4×100m and silver medal in 4×400m relays.
By virtue of scoring maximum points the school was declared champion in the meet in the Under-17 category. The school authorities congratulated the athletes and teacher Anand Chandra Das for bringing laurels for the school and the State.
