A carcass of a baby elephant was found in the Baniabandha Reserve Forest under the Khuntuni Range on Sunday morning.
On information from villagers of Khanduali, Khuntuni forest staffs recovered the carcass but without any report buried it in the jungle as per information.
When asked, Assistant Conservator of Forests RK Das told this paper that he is not informed about the matter officially. After it is intimated, investigation would take place, he added.
