Debtor shot for not returning Rs 15K to his friend

A man was shot dead allegedly by his friend as he was unable to return the Rs 15,000 which he had borrowed in Central Delhi Prasad Nagar area on Tuesday night, the police said on Wednesday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vinay, a resident of Karol Bagh who was shot dead by his friend Akash. Both of them are into Garment trading business on Tank road, they added.

"We got a PCR call regarding a firing following which a team was rushed to the spot. After which we got to know that the victim was already taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead," said a senior police officer.

During investigation, it came to light that they were friends and was talking outside Vinay's house. "It has come to light that Vinay had borrowed 15000 RS from Akash around one and a half month ago which he was unable to return. On Tuesday night, when they were talking Akash asked for his money again but Vinay refused to pay following which a scuffle broke out betweenthe two," said a senior police officer.

During the scuffle, Akash took out his pistol and fired at Vinay and fled the spot. "We have arrested the accused and booked him under relevant sections of the law. Akash doesn't have a previous criminal record," the officer added.
