Dejected over family’s decision of marriage, a 20-year-old nursing student committed suicide by hanging at here Durga Nagar residence under Habibganj police station on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, family members of the deceased, Pratigya Laade, spotted her hanging and rushed her to JP hospital where she was declared dead.

According to investigating officer, SI, RP Agnihotri, the deceased used to live with her family members in Durga Nagar and was pursuing B.Sc Nursing from Rajeev Gandhi College, Trilanga. She was found hanging in the evening and declared dead when taken to hospital. A suicide note was found in which she mentioned that she do not want to get married and pursue her career. The reason of taking extreme step could be fixing of marriage and would be investigated.

The father works as a plumber. Pratigya was eldest among three siblings. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of CrPC has been registered.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man died by consuming poisonous substance at Mehgra Kalann under Berasia police station area on Tuesday. According to the police, deceased Pawan Prasad was found in an unconscious state and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment.

Police have not found any suicide note or any reason behind the suicide and have claimed that the reason behind the suicide would be investigated.

The reason of the suicide was not clear claimed the police. In the initial investigation police found that the deceased used to have fights with her family members. Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
