The district administration on Tuesday began a preliminary demarcation of the constructions in the 75-metre security zone of the Jagannath Temple by engaging revenue officials.
The final demarcation would be conducted through the GPS system to ensure an error-free acquisition process in the eviction drive. The administration also sent a proposal under the Land Acquisition Act 2013 to the State Government for its approval, said an official.
It also launched a special cell headed by the ADM, Rehabilitation and Restoration (Rand R), to hear complaints and allegations of affected people.
In a related development, the five probationary IAS officers assigned duty for the mega heritage project in the city were given charge of 50 houses each to meet the affected residents and solve their problems, said district collector Balawant Singh.
