Tuesday, 13 August 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

n The number of dengue affected patients reached 350 mark on Monday with district health authorities reporting 36 new cases of the disease. The surge in the number of patients affected by the disease could be understood from the health department data that in last eleven days, 250 new patients have been reported in the provisional state capital.

The district vector borne diseases officer, Subhash Joshi said that a camp was organised by the department at Tapowan road, Ladpur panchayat Bhawan on the day.

In the camp, the residents were informed about dengue and ways to prevent the menace of the disease. Joshi asked the people present in the camp that they should ensure that the breeding places of mosquitoes inside their homes and vicinity are destroyed.

He said that since Aedes mosquito, the vector of the disease bites during day time it is advisable that everyone should wear full sleeve clothes to reduce exposure of their body for the mosquito to bite.

Joshi said that combined teams of health department and Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) are visiting the affected areas and activities like fogging and spread of insecticides are being undertaken apart from spreading awareness on preventive measures to be adopted for the disease.
