Dengue on roll in Doon valley’

The menace of dengue is continuing to haunt the residents of provisional State Capital Dehradun and nearby areas. On Friday, the State Health Department reported 86 new cases of the vector- borne disease. With these cases, the number of the patients affected by the disease mounted to 2269 in Dehradun.

Apart from Dehradun district, 1134 patients of the disease have so been reported from Nainital district. The health department data shows that the dengue has so far affected 3846 patients in the state with seven persons succumbing to the virus.

The district vector borne disease officer Subhash Joshi said that activities like fogging and spread of insecticides are being undertaken apart from spreading awareness on preventive measures to be adopted for the disease.
