Devotees admire ‘Living Durga’

Thousands of devotees admire the concept when they come face to face with ‘living’ goddesses at a simply decorated pandal at Brahama Kumari Ishwariya Vidyalaya sector 4 in Bokaro

Young girls, who practice simple Rajyoga or meditation, have dressed up as goddesses and they stand still in the pandal with Durga clutching a trident, Saraswati holding a Veena and Lakshmi depicted with a pot of wealth, while two dressed-up as Durga’s sons Lord Kartike, Lord Ganesha and one as Mahisasura.

While watching the ‘Living Durga’, viewers also found a stand fixed. A curtain is pulled before the standing girls every five minutes to give them two-minute break and let the crowd disperse. The show is scheduled from during seventh to ninth days (Saptami to Navmi) of Durga puja.

We are organizing the ‘Living Goddess show’ in a bid to create curiosity among people about meditation and to depicting the presence of ‘Durga’ and ‘Asura’ in all human beings, said an organiser.

Meanwhile, kids to late eighties have taken the precious glimpses of the idols of goddess Durga on the auspicious eve of Saptami in Bokaro Steel City.

More than 100 pandals have been setup in Chas and Bokaro which includes the replicas of popular temples and many other historical monuments, which

are the main attraction of the steel city.

Over lakhs of devotees visited puja pandals in the steel city to worship and receives the blessings of goddess Durga as they believe that the mother stands for everything that is everywhere in the Universe. As Goddess Durga, sits on a Lion gives us the power to eat, breathe, and walk safely.

The entire city is illuminating magnificently with innovative themes that offering glimpses of goddess Durga. Chhau, Dandia and Garba dance competitions observed at various puja spots.
