DGP conducts video conference at PHQ

For the upcoming festival season, traffic-related issues, cyber crime reporting portals and Sakshi Sangrakshan Yojana, a joint video conference was conducted at Police Headquarters on Friday. The Director General of Police (DGP) Anil K Raturi congratulated police department on conducting the three-tier Panchayat elections peacefully and directed the police to be more alert on the counting day.

About the cyber crime reporting portal, DGP Raturi directed all districts in-charge to understand the directions given by the Union Home ministry and take actions on the complaints accordingly.

Director General (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar said that even though the number of cyber crimes is increasing, the registration of such cases at police-station level is not being encouraged.

Stating that this is a matter of great concern he directed that a cyber cell should be made in all the districts.

He also directed that all districts in-charge should conduct monthly analysis of the complaints registered at these cells.

According to information provided by PHQ, the key directions given during the conference regarding the upcoming festive season were to increase visibility and to conduct detailed checking at crowded places such as railway stations and bus stations.

The police have also been directed to pay special attention on traffic management.

The districts in-charge have also been directed to coordinate with Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to ensure that all boundaries are secure and to constantly keep an eye on all sensitive areas.

Regarding the pending decision on Ayodhya matter in Supreme Court, police department has been directed to stay alert and keep check at the sensitive areas.

Police have also been directed to keep a check on social media activities as well and take immediate actions against those spreading fake and inflammatory messages.

Regarding the Sakshi Sangrakshan Yojana, officers have been directed to establish Sakshi Sangrakshan cell in all districts and to appoint an officer of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) rank in plains and Sub-Inspector rank officer in mountainous regions as nodal officers.
