The ‘Devbhoomi Manav Sansadhan trust’ has come forward for providing food to the relatives attending the victims of the Uttarkashi disaster undergoing treatment at the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. On Wednesday the Chairman of the trust and Vice President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Surya Kant Dhasmana met the victims of the disaster in the hospital and assured every possible help. He said that his trust would take over the responsibility of providing food three times a day to the attendants of the disaster victims. “ Our trust has made advance payment to the Indira Amma Canteen situated in the hospital premises and asked it to serve food to the attendants of the disaster victims till they are in the hospital,’’ he said. The Principal of the GDMC Dr Ashutosh Sayana and the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital Dr K K Tamta accompanied Dhasmana during his visit.
Eleven persons who were injured in the disaster triggered by cloud burst in the Arakot area of Uttarkashi district are currently admitted in the GDMC hospital. The deputy Medical Superintendent of the GDMC hospital, Dr N S Khatri said that all the injured are out of danger now and are responding to the treatment. He said that three female and eight males including a 12 year old boy are undergoing treatment in the hospital. On Tuesday some of the attendants of the injured admitted in the GDMC hospital had complained that they are finding it difficult to find food in the hospital.
