Pitted against BJP’s Hindu poster woman Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Congress candidate in Bhopal Digvijaya Singh roped in hundreds of seers to perform Hath yoga in favour of him on Tuesday to peddle a narrative that he is the real Hindu face.

Congress nominee Digvijaya Singh also took part in religious rituals with his wife Amrita Singh and sought blessings of the sadhus who were led by Computer Baba.

The Computer Baba, aka Namdev Das Tyagi, former close aide of Shivraj Singh Chouhan who had assigned him with Minister of State status during his Government, later switched his loyalties and backed Congress in Assembly polls.

Led by Computer Baba, hundreds of seers gathered at Saifia College ground in Bhopal. The three-day event would conclude on May 9 when the seers would hold a roadshow in Bhopal.

At over 41 degrees of temperature, the seers are performing Hath yoga which is meditation while sitting on the ground and burning cow dung cakes are kept around.

Talking to media persons, Computer Baba claimed it was a fight of dharma and adharma. Dharma was with Digvijay Singh so as the seer community. Such events would continue in favour of Singh who is a ‘dharma premi’ and ‘Narmada premi’, said the seer who has been accusing Shivraj of illegal mining in Narmada riverbed and corruption in plantation along with Narmada banks.

Notably, BJP candidate Pragya Thakur also has called this election against Singh a battle of Dharma and Adharma.

Recently, Mahamandleshwar Viaragyanand from Gujarat had also announced to perform red chilli yagna to make Singh victorious.

A leading Jain Pushpdant Sagar saint has also extended support to candidature of Singh who has been seen I the company of seers daily after he was nominated from Bhopal.
