Classes for Diploma in Technology (Electrical) for Working Professionals were inaugurated at Daladali campus of ICFAI University here on Wednesday. A number of employees of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam (JBVNL) and other Electrical Companies joined the program.
Addressing the students, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “We noticed that a number of ITI qualified working professionals in Electrical Industries like JBVNL are keen to pursue Diploma in Technology ( Polytechnic) so as to advance quickly in their careers. In view of this, our University introduced this program, for which classes are conducted in the evening to suit the convenience of the employees. Lab/Workshop sessions are conducted on Sundays. “In view of our commitment to help the working professionals to pursue continuing educational programs, we have been offering MBA for working professionals for the last over 6 years, wherein a lot of employees were benefited,” added Prof Rao.
Explaining about the program, Prof Arvind Kumar, Associate Dean (Faculty of Science and Technology) said, “The program is for duration of 3 years. Besides adopting latest syllabus, we will adapt our teaching methods to suit the needs of working professionals, without sacrificing the rigour of the program”
A number of faculty members, employees and students of the University attended the event. Dr B M Singh, Registrar of the University proposed a vote of thanks.
