Dismembered body parts of an unidentified woman were found on Monday evening at Alipur area of national Capital. Most of the body parts were found inside a white sack while some were found scattered, arousing suspicion that they were eaten by dogs.
According to Gaurav Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Outer North district, a passerby informed police around 6 pm on Monday evening after he spotted the sack.
“A team rushed to the spot and a team of forensic examiners collected the remains for an autopsy. Some of the marks found on the victim’s body looked like dog bites,” said the DCP.
“Only some parts of a dismembered human body were found. Some articles of clothing recovered from where the body was found suggest that the body is that of a woman,” said the DCP.
Due to absence of any documents or any clue regarding the deceased has hampered police investigation. “There is no head of the deceased and initial probe suggests that the person was killed two days ago,” said police officer privy to investigation.
“A case has been registered under appropriate sections at Alipur police stations. Police station in Delhi and NCR had been alerted.
A team has also been formed to identify the victim. Further investigation is going on,” the DCP added.
A similar case had come to light from Mumbai just last month where the headless body of a woman was retrieved by police officials.
