DJB worker trapped in pit rescued

The sleuths of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) on Tuesday rescued a 40-year-old labourer who was trapped inside a pit which he was digging for Jal Board in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area.

 The victim has been identified as Mohammad Tavrej, is a resident of Acheli village in Araria district of Bihar.According to a senior DFS official, on Tuesday at around 9.50 am a call regarding the incident was received following which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

"The man was trapped in the loose mud while he was digging a pit for the Delhi Jal Board. He was taken out and rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital by the fire officials," said the senior DFS official.

"Later, he was shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital in an unconscious state," said the DFS official.
