Valuables worth Rs 15.8 lakh were burgled from Alkapuri under Baghsewania police station area on Monday; victim’s domestic help escaped with valuables.
Police said that the victim Mayank Chawla had gone for last rites of his younger brother who died of cardiac arrest two days ago and when he returned on Monday the valuables were found burgled.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim in which the victim stated that they left the house after his brother died and after last rituals when they returned their domestic help Sonu Lodhi was found missing and Rs 14 lakh cash and gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 1.80 lakh were burgled. The total loss in the burglary was Rs 15.80 lakh.
The lock of the almirah was not broken which suggest that the accused have produced duplicate keys and using the keys committed the burglary. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim had provided details of the accused with the police at the time of providing him job and assured that the accused was honest family left the house leaving his mother and accused at the house. The accused admitted victim’s mother at Bansal hospital and later escaped with the valuables. Accused who is a resident of Sagar was employed on October 10 and in the past two days after victim left the house he committed the burglary.
