nSenior advisor to NITI Aayog, Dr Madan Gopal while reviewing the development indicators set by the Aayog for Sukma district on Saturday stressed on reinvigorating the efforts aimed at institutional delivery and eradicating malnutrition from the district.
“There is need for special efforts for ensuring institutional delivery. All pregnant ladies should be registered, they must undergo regular health check-up and receive nutritional diet,” Dr Gopal said while adding hundred percent children should be vaccinated and not a single child should remain malnourished.
“If any child is malnourished then the child should be admitted to nutrition rehabilitation centre and receive proper treatment. The health department needs to ensure proper action on these indicators,” he said.
Elaborating on the concept of aspirational district, Dr Gopal said we all should strive to works towards lifting the status of life of people in this district at par with other better districts of India.
“Our district should have proper health facility, every village should have road, safe drinking water, irrigation facility, power and every Panchayat must be connected to internet. Until we achieve these goals, we need to work continuously,” he emphasised.
He asked the officials of from a Woman and Child development department to increase the public participation in ‘Poshna Aahar’ programme at Anganwadi.
“A child as per need should be provided with nutritious food two to four times a day. This will certainly help in effectively rooting out malnutrition,” he said.
Earlier, he visited Gadiras Primary health centre, Murtonda sub-health centre, girls ashram school, Murtonda, Burgoda Anganwadi centre and district hospital Sukma.
