Dr. Rohit Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal has been appointed as the Director -Alumni Relations, MAHE, Manipal effective March 15, 2019.
Dr. Rohit hails from Ranchi, Jharkhand where he completed his early education. An alumnus of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, he completed his MBBS and MS in Otorhinolaryngology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in the year 2001 and 2005 respectively.
Dr. Rohit joined his alma-mater Kasturba Medical College, Manipal as Assistant Professor on completion of his post-graduation and continued to serve the institution in various capacities.
Among his many honors, Dr. Rohit is the recipient of Ratan Tata Award for Rhinology Fellowship from Graz Medical School, Austria for the year 2008 and British Academic Congress Fellowship, Liverpool in the year 2009. He was also awarded Sri Gregory Randolph International Visiting Scholar Award by American academy of ENT for clinical fellowship from Harvard Medical School, Boston in the year 2010 and House Ear Research center, Los Angeles, CA in the year 2011.
Dr. Rohit has to his credit more than 20 publications in various National and International Journals and also co-authored 2 ENT textbooks. He also serves as an international guest faculty at Universities in Europe and USA.
Married to Dr. Manali Hazarika who is serving as an Assistant Professor in Opthalmology, KMC, the couple is blessed with a daughter and a son pursuing their schooling. Dr. Rohit enjoys travelling and music.
