Piplani police has nabbed a drug peddler near Satnami Nagar and recovered cannabis weighing 1.5 kg from his possession. Police have registered a case and have started investigation.
Police said that acting on a tip-off that a man was carrying drugs, he was nabbed near Satnami Nagar and when he was frisked, 1.5 kg of cannabis was recovered from his possession.
The accused was identified as Shoaib Hasan, a resident of Satnami Nagar who failed to provide details of the drugs recovered from his possession. Police said that the details of procurement and delivery of the drugs would be known in the further investigation.
After the initial investigation, the police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.
During the investigation ,police have found that the accused has already been booked for over a dozen crimes by Piplani police.
The accused used to sell small packets of cannabis worth Rs 50 each. The target was youths and men around Piplani area.
Meanwhile, Teelajamalpura police has nabbed a 42-year-old man who was charged with vehicle lifting and was absconding for the past three years.
According to the police, acting on a tip off, a miscreant was nabbed who was identified as Shambhu Khan of Hoshangabad.
During the investigation, it was found that the accused has been booked for several crimes in the past. His two aides — Danish and Salman — have been arrested in the past.
The accused is a notorious vehicle lifter and remained absconding for three years.
