In a barbaric incident, a woman was allegedly killed by none other than her husband following a quarrel between them in the Balanda area in Angul district on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Geeta Behera. Police detained accused Muna Behera and interrogated him.
According to sources Muna was inebriated when he came home late on Monday night. Like earlier days, Geeta abused him for drinking.
The quarrel continued for a few hours. Then Muna hit her head with a big stone, leading to her death on the spot.
After killing his wife, Muna dumped her body near a cement store at the nearby Gurudwara market. Being informed, the Vikrampur police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem on Tuesday.
