ECI invites entries for ‘National Media Award’

Election Commission of India has invited entries from media houses for the ‘National Media Award’ for best campaign on voter’s education and awareness during the year 2019.

According to office of Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh, there are four awards, one each for print media, television (electronic), radio (electronic) and online (internet/social media).

The award carries a citation and plaque which will be presented at a function on the National Voters’ Day (January 25, 2020).

The criteria for assessment for the award are quality of voter awareness campaign, extent of coverage, evidence of impact on the public and any other relevant factors.

The condition for entry is that it should have been published or broadcast/telecast during the relevant period. The print entries must include, summary of work carried out, number of news items, articles, total print area in square centimetres, a pdf soft copy or a link to a relevant web address or full size print or photocopy of the newspaper/articles have to be sent. The entries should reach Election Commission of India before October 31, 2019.
