Eight NGO members booked for duping people

Ashoka Garden police have booked 8 members of NGO for duping to the tune of Rs 36 lakh; complaint was lodged after representative of funding agency lodged complaint against the NGO members

Police said that two accused Manoj Verma and Rajpal Shekhawat who run NGO for care and support of HIV/AIDS patients and duped Rs 36 lakh which were funded by Delhi based PLAN India NGO.

A complaint was lodged by Anup Arora of PLAN India regarding the fraud against Manoj Verma and Rajpal Shekhawat and other members of the NGO identified as Dharmendra Jain, Pyar Singh, Neetu Joshi, Kishore Rathore and Rekha Teli.

From the year 2015- 2017 PLAN India provided Rs 7 crore to the NGO Madhya Pradesh People Living with HIV/AIDS and in the audit there were some discrepancies found after which PLAN India asked for the money which fraudulently taken but the NGO members refused to pay the amount.

The complainant in his complaint stated that Manoj and Rajpal have transferred Rs 18 lakh each in their personal bank accounts and refused to return the money, said police.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 420 and 34 of the IPC and started further investigation.

Meanwhile Nishatpura police have booked two persons for duping a person to the tune of Rs 3 lakh in the name of facilitating loan for Polyhouse.

The victim Arun Patel was duped by Devendera and Satyendra in the name of name of facilitating loan for Polyhouse to the tune of Rs 3 lakh. Complaint was lodged by the victim after the accused refused to return money or facilitate loan for Polyhouse in Narsinghgarh.
