Election campaigning for Dantewada by-poll ends

Election campaigning for the by-poll in Scheduled Tribe reserved Dantewada assembly seat has come to end on Saturday at 3.00 pm. The polling is scheduled on September 23 from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm.

District Electoral Officer and District Collector had directed all the candidates, political party workers, star        campaigners and public that during next 48 hours, no public meeting or rally will be organized nor the people will register their participation in it. Even there will be no campaign through television, visual aids or any other medium related to election will be broadcasted or              transmitted.

Additional to it musical programme, play or other source of entertainment for the public is also banned during the period.

District electoral     officer in the order states that as per Representation of the People Act, 1951 Article 3- section 126 sub section (1) provisions     violation will attract imprisonment up to two years or fine or both.

People who are not electors of the assembly constituency had come to the constituency for       election campaigning from different parts of the state or outside were also asked to move out.
