Electors verification programme launched

The Chief Election Officer (CEO) of Delhi has launched Electors Verification Programme (EVP) to encourage citizens to come forward and authenticate existing electors’ details along with their family members in order to improve the health and fidelity of the electoral rolls and make it error free. The campaign will continue till 15th September.

The programme was launched by Dr Ranbir Singh, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi and has been attended by all officers and staff of the office of CEO, Delhi.

“Through this program, we expect a hassle free correction in the existing electors details wherever required and registration of eligible un enrolled persons. Also, the regular interaction between the electors and electoral officers will enhance health and fidelity of electoral rolls,” said an official of Delhi Election Commission.

The officials said that the electors need to upload documents any documents to such as Indian passport, Driving Licence, Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Government working or non-government Identity Cards, Bank passbook, farmers identity card, pan card or others such bills of latest water bill, telephone, electricity, gas showing an address to verify themselves.  The electors can verify themselves by registering themselves and verify details of family members on NVSP ( www.nvsp.in ) or by downloading voter helpline application from Google Play Store or they can also visit nearby common service centres  and voter centres to verify the documents, said the official.

Besides, the Delhi CEO has started helpline number -1950 to assist the Physically Disabled Persons (PWD).

Further, the CEO Ranbir Singh asked all the staff to

verify and authenticate

elector details of self and family in first go itself. He also requested all officials to spread the information and educate & motivate all relatives, neighbours including society members etc., for doing the same and making this programme a grand success, said an official.
