The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested a 25- year-old civil engineer for allegedly trafficking drugs in the national Capital. Police have also recovered 500 grams of heroin from the possession of the accused.
The accused has been identified as Vinay a resident of Raghuvir Nagar in Delhi.
According to Dr Ajit Kumar Singla, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, specific inputs were received regarding the accused that he would come near Parmanand Special Surgery Hospital, on Ring Road between 3:00 and 3:30 pm, for supplying huge consignment of Heroin to someone following which a trap was laid and the accused was apprehended.
"The accused with the help of her mother-in-law used to procure heroin from Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) and used to supply in Delhi and its peripherals. Police have recovered 500 grams of heroin from his possession on the spot. A case under appropriate sections has been registered at Crime Branch police station," said Dr Singla.
