All the advocates and departments concerned should work in coordination and ensure effective actions in the cases filed by the Uttarakhand State Government in Supreme Court, National Green Tribunal and other tribunals. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while chairing a meeting to review the status of the cases involving the state in the Apex court, NGT and other courts. The chief minister held at the meeting with counsels and officials in the Uttarakhand Sadan in the national Capital on Thursday.
Along with legal representatives and counsels listed by the state, the chief minister reviewed in detail, the status of various cases of the state in the Supreme Court, NGT and other courts.
The state’s advocate general SN Babulkar informed the chief minister that in coordination with the officers and employees of the state’s departments concerned, the various cases of the state in the Apex court, NGT and other courts are being processed. The advocates suggested that such a review meeting should be held once every six months in Delhi and other places in Uttarakhand. The advocates also suggested that the officers and employees of the police, forest department, revenue and other departments should be given training in registering case and conducting investigation into the same. The chief minister agreed with the suggestions made by the advocates.
The State’s advocate general SN Babulkar, justice secretary Prem Singh Khimal, additional principal chief conservator of forests and nodal officer for green issues, SD Singh, chief minister’s additional secretary Ashish Kumar Srivastav, additional resident commissioner Ila Giri and advocates were among those present in the meeting.
