Chief Secretary Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty said that the District Collectors must ensure implementation of Government schemes and programmes on their own initiative. You all are familiar with the policy directions, programmes and schemes of the government and are also experienced and capable enough, so decide the priorities and innovate in view of the circumstances of the district.
He also directed the District Collectors to tour extensively for establishing live contact with the common man. Mohanty was addressing the review meeting of Bhopal and Hoshangabad at Mantralaya on Saturday.
The Divisional Commissioner of Bhopal Kalpana Shrivastava, Divisional Commissioner Narmadapuram Ravindra Mishra, District Collectors, CEOs of Jila Panchayats and other Officers were present in the meeting.
Status of rainfall, disaster relief distribution, redressal of revenue cases, measures being taken to prevent diseases, preparations for purchase of kharif crops, availability of fertilizers, ongoing campaign against adulteration, Aapki Sarkaar Aapke Dwaar programme, repair of roads, illegal mineral excavation and its transportation and storage, implementation of schemes in Scheduled Tribe-dominated blocks, electric supply, availability of aaganwadi buildings and other issues were reviewed in the meeting and directives given.
Chief Secretary Mohanty asked for giving utmost importance to the redressal of public grievances in the ‘Aapke Sarkaar-Aapke Dwaar’ programme. The General Administration department should issue necessary instructions in this regard so that the process of reception and speech etc. does not take much time. Collectors were also asked to maintain proper vigilance during the ensuing festival days and to ensure the activeness of urban bodies and nagar panchayats for cleaning the ghats before the immersion. Collectors were also told to resolve the pending revenue cases at an accelerated pace.
Mohanty also directed to continue and intensify the campaign against adulteration. He said that the laboratories of milk federation and pharmacy colleges should also be used for testing the samples. He said that the necessary official procedures for road improvement should be completed at the earliest, so that road improvement work starts between September 20 and October 15 and could be completed by the end of November.
Mohanty also directed to prepare an action plan to shift the aaganwadis being run in the rented buildings to the unused government buildings in the districts. The Principal Secretary Health Pallavi Jain Govil suggested that the activity of examining and destroying dengue larvae in homes should be given to school children in the form of project, which will help in controlling dengue in urban and rural areas. Betul Collector was also appreciated for making the Betul district TB free.
