The Director General (DG) of Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dr Rajendra Dobhal inaugurated ‘Destination Uttarakhand’ a three-day long science Exhibition at a hotel here on Thursday.
In his address, Dobhal said that Uttarakhand offers positive environment for any industrial activity to proposer as the state has a stable industrial policy. The state has good infrastructure and tremendous potential in tourism sector as well, he said.
He further added that exhibitions like these provide a learning platform for young students who get an opportunity to learn about latest advancements.
On the first day, the exhibition was visited by government officials, representatives of state council, scientists, academicians, educationists, students, professors and teachers of various schools.
The exhibition witnesses participation from several government ministries, Public Sector Undertakings (PSU’s) and organisations such as Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), National Council of Educational Research and Training, Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Power Grid, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Ayush, Indian Council of Medical Research, Inland Waterways Authority and others.A panel discussion on ‘Shrinking water resources’ was moderated by Secretary SPECS, Brij Mohan on the day.
