Taking cognizance in delay in construction works currently in progress in different medical colleges of the State, the secretary, medical education, Nitesh Jha has warned the work executing agency, the Uttar Pradesh Rajkeeya Nirman Nigam Limited (UPRNNL) to expedite the pending works.
The secretary reviewed the progress of the construction of buildings of medical colleges of Dehradun, Haldwani and Srinagar on Monday. It was observed that construction work in the Government Doon Medical College was going on at a snail’s pace.
The general manager of the UPRNNL, Arvind Tiwari and project manager D S Rana informed the secretary that the DPR of the project is needed to be revised. On it the secretary asked the director medical education to re-examine the works assigned to UPRNNL. After the meeting the secretary visited the under construction building of the GDMC and gave detailed instructions to the officials concerned. He expressed his strong objection on witnessing the defacement of the newly constructed OPD block and directed the officials to ensure that the building is not defaced or used to stick posters.
