Fake lubricant unit busted in Baleswar

The Shadevkhunta police in Baleswar district on Friday busted a fake automobile lubricant manufacturing unit operating from a rented house in Baleswar town for a long time.

The police raided the illegal unit at Aradbazar and seized around 1200 litre of fake engine oil. Police said the unit was operating at the rented house for the last 20 years.

The cops had earlier received inputs of illegal lubricant manufacturing factory running in the town. Based on the inputs, Sahadevkhunta Model PS personnel and representatives of a reputed lubricant brand raided the premises leading to seizure of the duplicate lubricants.

The duplicate motor lubricants were packaged in containers with labels of various leading brands. The accused allegedly collected used and old stock engine oil which was further processed at the unauthorised unit. The lubricants treated with colours and perfumes were bottled in containers. Then, it was supplied into the local market through their established network. In the connection two persons were arrested and one detained.

While Yousuf Khan (30) alias Sahil and Irshan Khan (25) alias Raju were arrested, the house owner’s son Seikh Tasreef Khan was detained for interrogation. The accused are natives of Masjid Bazar.
