Fake notes racket busted, 4 arrested, notes seized

The Nazeerabad Police has busted a gang involved in producing counterfeit currency notes and recovered fake currency notes over Rs 1 lakh from four miscreants; main accused of the gang was nabbed from Indore and recovered printer, computer and paper used.

The police nabbed a miscreant from weekly market identified as Manoj Chouhan and recovered 12 fake currency notes of denominations of Rs 200 were recovered from his possession.

The nabbed accused was tracked and his movements were watched from past few days and he was nabbed on December 20, 2019. In the investigation Manoj who was caught in suspect to stealing vegetable from the market but later it was revealed that he was involved in circulating fake currency notes and provided details of the main accused. 

Based on the details provided by Manoj, police searched several places in Indore and Hoshangabad and tracked Anees Kourav alias Sikander from Indore and arrested him.

Anees confessed that he wanted to make big money and learnt making of fake currency notes from internet and later produced fake currency notes which were circulated in the state and in other states with the help of Raju Sirsagar and Ajay Nath.

Police have registered a case under section 489 A, B, C and D and 34 of the IPC and started search for other members of the nexus. More regions were the gang members used to circulate fake currency would be investigated in the further investigation. The period for which the gang members were active is yet to be revealed.
