The Navanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) staged a demonstration in front of the Khordha district Collector’s office here on Saturday in protest against the irregularities in selection of KALIA beneficiaries.
Alleging that many ineligible people were included in the KALIA scheme on party consideration, the activists ridiculed the State Government’s decision that the money would be retrieved from the ineligible farmers.
NKS State organiser Seshadeb Nanda threatened that the agitation would be intensified if all eligible farmers are not included in the scheme soon.
Among others, NKS district coordinator Suresh Chandra Mansingh, senior organiser Ramesh Swain, Bolgarh block coordinator Jayant Tripathy, Begunia coordinator Madan Sahu, district co-coordinator Niranjan Pradhan and Hadibandu Maharana were present.
